Sikiru Olatunbosun’s stunning goal against Enugu Rangers has been voted CNN Football’s Goal of the Week.
The MFM FC’s forward was named winner on Friday, after votes from football fans all over the world were collated.
Olatunbosun garnered over 80% of the votes, beating off competition from Roma’s Radja Nainggolan, Youri Tielemans of Anderlecht and Woking FC’s Joey Jones.
“Congratulations to Sikiru Olatunbosun, winner of the latest CNN Goal of the Week!” CNN Football tweeted.
This is the first time a goal from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), will win the award.
Olatunbosun lifted the ball over a Rangers defender, before smashing the ball into the top corner from 25 yards, to give the Olukoya Boys the lead last Friday.
The home side went on to win the game 2-1, with Stephen Odey adding a second goal.
