The Sun reports that the 31-year-old has been approached by MLS and could follow Mark Clattenburg out of the door.

This week, Clattenburg ended his affiliation with the Premier League league and agreed a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, to continue his refereeing career.

Former EPL referee, Howard Webb, could also take up a role in the US, to help with the development of video assistants.

It is believed Webb will eventually become head of referees in the MLS and Oliver is one of the top officials he will target.

This increases pressure on Chief Mike Riley, who is the head of referees in England, as Clattenburg and Oliver’s departure would only heighten scrutiny on his position.
